Eco-Tourism Goal

Adhering to the principles of sustainable development through participatory, responsive and accountable local governance, the local government of Pandan together with its entire constituency aim to develop Pandan as a wholesome and sustainable eco-tourism municipality.

Sustainable Eco-Tourism

The municipality recognizes its rich natural areas, from the lush vegetation and variety of wildlife in its mountains, to the rustling cool waters in its rivers down to its luxuriant coral reefs, and beautiful coastlines with spectacular views suitable for eco-tourism development and promotion. However, for economic reasons or otherwise, these areas are also threatened by resource exploitation, hence the urgent need for sound management which will ensure protection of these areas. Moreover, the rich cultural heritage of the municipality which is an additional attractive attribute needs to be preserved amidst fast changing society.

The geographic location of Pandan can be considered strategic for eco-tourism. It could supplement the Boracay resort owners, establishments and tours because of more eco-tourist attractions at the mainland.
